Episode 522: The Power of Your Story: How She Channels the Narrative You Didn’t Know You Had

Thrive By Design Episode 522: The Power of Your Story: How She Channels the Narrative You Didn’t Know You Had

Ever feel like you're going through the motions in your business? Like something's missing, but you can't quite put your finger on it?

That's exactly where I found myself not too long ago – successful on paper but feeling creatively suffocated and burnt out. And I know I'm not alone.

In this episode, I sit down with my friend Chantelle Adams, a master storyteller who has taken her speaking and storytelling expertise to a whole new level by incorporating energy work, sound healing, and what she calls “timeline transmutation” – a powerful process that helps entrepreneurs heal their relationship with visibility, money, and self-expression.

What happens in this conversation genuinely surprised me. Chantelle actually channeled my brand story LIVE on the show, bringing me to tears as she connected dots between my childhood experiences, creative expression, and current business evolution that I couldn't see myself. It was one of those rare, vulnerable podcast moments I wasn't planning for – but I'm so glad we captured it.

In this episode, you'll learn:

  • [3:15] The concept that “energy precedes words” and how connecting energetically transforms your storytelling
  • [9:25] How major life transitions can become powerful catalysts for business reinvention
  • [18:42] What “timeline transmutation” is and how changing your narrative can heal business blocks
  • [27:30] Why abandoning your creativity for others' definition of success leads to burnout
  • [36:15] A live demonstration of Chantelle channeling my brand story (grab tissues for this part!)

When Your Story Holds You Back (Without You Knowing It)

We all have stories we tell ourselves about who we are, what we're capable of, and what success should look like. But what if those stories are actually holding you back?

That's the fascinating work Chantelle does. She describes it like acupuncture for your narrative – finding those energetic blockages in your story and releasing them so you can flow freely again.

“I can pick up on where they're stuck from a place of really limiting their ability to receive financially, their ability to step into their next level, their ability to be seen,” Chantelle explained. “I can shift the narrative of big moments in people's lives that dissipates the energy that's been stuck in that moment in time.”

What struck me most was how many of us carry these invisible blocks from childhood or past experiences without realizing it. For me, it was partly about a boyfriend who once told me “art classes are for stupid people” – a throwaway comment that influenced decades of how I approached creativity in my business.

The Burnout Nobody Talks About

Here's something I've never heard anyone discuss openly: creative suppression is a direct path to burnout, even when your business is thriving financially.

“When we are not in our creative flow, we will actually sabotage our work,” Chantelle observed. “We will create busy work. We will not be so lit up by our work, so it will feel heavy… We will burn out because our souls are no longer lit in the ways that they need to be.”

This hit me hard because I realized I'd been following strategies that others said would work rather than trusting my own creative instincts. No wonder I was exhausted!

Reinvention Isn't About Starting Over

One misconception I had about reinvention was thinking it meant throwing everything away and starting fresh. Chantelle helped me see that true reinvention is more about reclaiming parts of yourself you've abandoned along the way.

“It's not about necessarily burn out,” she said, “but maybe just a stopping of the flow of creativity or an abandonment of our true self-expression.”

I won't spoil the entire channeling session (you really need to hear it), but one line stayed with me: “The most successful people in the world, the visionaries, the leaders, the entrepreneurs, aren't the ones who abandon their creativity. They're the ones who reclaimed it.”

If this conversation has stirred something in you, know that you're not alone – so many creative entrepreneurs reach a point where they need to reconnect with their authentic expression and realign their business with their true purpose. This is exactly why I'm so passionate about helping others through their own reinvention journey.
