Bonus Episode #2: Your Jewelry and Product Business in the Face of Uncertainty
Are you freaking out a little bit? Don’t worry, the voice of reason is here!
I’m talking about Jason R. Ayers, of course.
In Part 1 we talked about what you can do to protect your mindset and creative energy.
I highly recommend listening to that first. You need to take care of yourself before you can take care of your business.
Now, we’re diving into tactical strategies to protect your business and income during these uncertain times.
I’ve been a cheerleader for recession-proofing your biz ever since my first brand was wiped out by the 2008 recession.
The question right now is not, “Will I make it through this?”
Take it from me: you will make it through this.
The critical question you should be asking yourself right now is: “What needs to change in order for my business to continue to thrive in the face of adversity?”
Let’s jump right in…
Focus On What You Can Control
This starts with yourself.
It’s a scary and uncertain time, but there’s only so much you can do. Don’t let up on the habits and practices that have gotten you this far.
Mental health, exercise, and good sleep are just as important now as they were before. Maybe even more!
This puts you in the right mindset to show up for your business energized, creative, and ready to problem-solve.
You’re more capable than you think, m’dear!
Reach Out & Stay Connected
Social distancing is necessary right now. Luckily, we’re more connected than ever thanks to the internet.
Your customers are undoubtedly stressed out. Reach out to them! It doesn’t have the be a sales thing. Just check-in, let them know you care.
Even better, send them something entertaining or funny! People are going to be cooped up and reading their emails more than ever.
After everything calms down, they’re going to remember the brands that made them feel happy in a time of need.
Make A Dent In Your Procrastination List
Your procrastination list is the best to-do list, as Jason puts it.
Things kinda suck right now, yes. But you’re a creative visionary. You can freak out and give up, or you can make the best of a tricky situation and take the opportunity to catch up on all the things you’ve been putting off.
Now is not the time to pull away from your business and stop marketing. If anything, now is your chance to really focus and work on your business.
Listen to the full episode above for a list of ways you can do this.
Above all, stay safe, sound, and healthy, m’dear!
Your Flourish & Thrive community is here for you. ♥
xo, Tracy
