Designer Spotlight: Lidija Redovnikovic
A brief story of what you do and why you do it.
I make copper, brass and silver handmade jewelry. It is not only my work but also my true passion and lifestyle.
How did you get into jewelry design?
I started making jewelry spontaneously when I was a child and over the years I've developed different techniques for making my jewelry.
What makes your collection unique?
Each piece is 100% handcraft by me and is one of a kind. I like to combine copper and brass. The two metals make beautiful contrast between the dark brown color of copper, which I oxidize by hand and the golden color of brass.
What are your inspirations?
I find inspiration in everything that surrounds me, mostly nature in all its forms.
How are you making a difference in your life?
I feel truly blessed to be able to work and create something that makes me so happy.
What's something unusual about you that makes you “you”?
I'm a very open-minded person and I see things for what they are, out of the frames set up by different influences through life.
What's the biggest struggle in running your jewelry business like a business?
The biggest struggle in running a handmade jewelry business is that it is very difficult with a small collection of handmade jewelry to compete with industrial made jewelry that comes in thousands. But my biggest advantage is that I always keep friendly relations with my customers and they feel really appreciated. I also do custom orders and that is what keeps my customers coming back.
