Episode 475: Overcoming Addiction and a Toxic Relationship to Grow Her Jewelry Business with Sabrina Nussbaumer
Sabrina Nussbaumer is a woman with a hell of a backstory.
She’s also got great bangs, but more importantly, she has handled a crazy number of challenges, and come out the other side with a powerful story to tell.
In 2011, Sabrina was in the depths of an alcohol addiction. She was going to school for fine arts… and blew all her scholarship money at the bar.
Not only did she have to drop out of college and take a job in a hellishly hot factory to make ends meet, but she lost touch with the creative spark that had always filled her.
Working in 90+ degree heat every day convinced her that she needed to turn her life around and set her on the path that would ultimately lead to the creation of her business, SNJD Jewelry.
Today, Sabrina is sober, thriving, and growing a unique silversmithing business.
In this inspiring episode, you’ll hear about…
- How Sabrina’s addiction — and a toxic relationship — led her to metal smithing and eventually to jewelry design
- How Sabrina started SNJD Jewelry — despite knowing nothing about building a business or creating a cohesive body of work
- Why the pandemic turned out to be a blessing in disguise for Sabrina’s new business… and how she has kept her brand afloat despite numerous personal challenges
- Why being turned down for the Train Your Customers program turned out to be one of the best things to happen to her
- How Sabrina got clear on her branding, content and launch strategy for a new phase in her business…
Plus how Sabrina learned to overcome the ‘icky’ feeling of asking for sales, how she has turned her trauma into momentum, and the results and mantras that keep Sabrina driving forward in her business every day.
This is such a cool transformation story. I’m super happy to be a part of it and I think you’ll love hearing what Sabrina has to share.
xo, Tracy
