Episode 493: How 5 Designers Grew to High Sale Months – Must Listen
How much ROI can you get in ONE year by investing in yourself?
Today is a very special episode of Thrive By Design – because I have a panel of women who have all become successful Jewelry business owners in their own right.
What they all have in common is that they decided to invest in our Laying The Foundation program, listened to our coaches, worked hard, and achieved amazing results.
I start by asking the panel to tell me their business’s name and what was the biggest mindset shift they had to make to upgrade their business. They answer with varying responses from pricing mindset to discovering their self-worth.
Erin has an amazing story about getting to her first 19k month. I ask Erin to tell it, and she shares how she – from a tiny island in Alaska and with a fisherman husband who is gone most of the time and two very young kids – managed to prioritize her business, develop scalable strategies, and use RGAs to achieve her monthly dreams – and in doing so provide for her family.
Wanda then shares how her business has changed in the past year. For her – it started with getting clarity about who her dream customers were. Then she shares all the things that changed in her business and how her business changed from a disjointed mess to a cohesive operation.
Later in the podcast, Wanda talks about how once she’s finished with LTF she plans to join the JMC – the Jewelry Marketing Collective – whose purpose is to improve your marketing and learn new Revenue Generating Activities through monthly revenue challenges. Lara Miller shares how she finally got sick of all her own BS and excuses – and committed to breaking through the block that had held her back for 8 years. She shares how her coach Dawn got her past it – and how now she can justify her pricing with confidence. She finishes by talking about the reasons and emotional hurdles she’s going through with her business’ rebranding.
I then ask Dawn what it was like helping Laura from her side. Dawn shares how she may come across as nice and timid – but when someone needs her help she will drop everything and tell them – honestly and directly – what they need to hear. She reveals what it’s like being a coach and shows a piece of her daily life.
Laura Stamper shares how she invested over $10k this year in her business – and made it all back by the end of Q1. Though she struggles mightily with technology – she learned to outsource and grew her business by over 300% from online sales alone.
Lindsey shares how after she made only $13k – her highest year ever – she decided to support her husband while he quit his job and went back to school. Her faith in herself paid off – and she quickly grew her business and is on track to making six figures just 4 years later. She shares how she went from hating email marketing to becoming a believer in it – and reveals the significant difference it made in one of her highest revenue months ever.
I ask the panel if they had any hesitations about joining Laying the Foundation – and what would they say to someone who is on the fence? I received many varying answers – from “I wasn’t even considering joining LTF” to “I was advised by my business professor to drop out of school and work on my business full time”. As to their advice – no one can say it better than the panelists – but one common theme is that you’ll only get results if you’re willing to put in the work and are open to change.
I wrap up the episode by thanking the panelists for being inspirations and beacons of light.
