Episode 495: How to Use AI Tools to Pitch Holiday Publicity (and a lot more) with Callan Faulkner

Today’s guest Callan Faulkner is an expert on streamlining businesses' operations to maximize their efficiency and productivity.

I start off the episode introducing Callen – an expert in making businesses efficient. She has spent the last year experimenting with all the different AI models out there and knows which ones to use for which tasks – some of which will surprise you!
We quickly turn to one of the most obvious uses of AI – web search. However, most people are doing AI web search wrong – they talk to AI like they do a Google search. Callen reveals why this is the polar opposite of how you should search with AI – and shares what you should do instead.
Then we switch to content writing. Many business owners have figured out that Chatp GPT writes content like a robot – and is not very effective without a lot of editing. Callen reveals that there is an AI that can write content nearly indistinguishable from human writing – Claude. She reveals how to prompt Claude to write in your business’s tone and create usable content in seconds.
If you’ve ever used AI for research – you know you have to be careful because AI is prone to hallucinations – making up stuff. Enter Perplexity – an AI that cites its sources so you can easily verify everything it says in 1-2 clicks. Callen shares how you can combine Perplexity, Claude, and Chat GPT together to get highly researched, well-written, and cleanly formatted content.
I’m highly interested in using AI for pitching – so I ask Callen how to do that. She kindly shares strategies for how to pitch yourself and your business when you are trying to get positive PR.
A lot of people have a mistaken idea of what “training” AI means. Callen reveals that anyone can train AI and shares how to prompt AI to do just that. You don’t need to be a technical expert to train an AI to be a helpful partner, content writer, and sounding board.
Professional Development is important for any business owner. However, reading tens of books every year can take a lot of time. Thankfully there is an AI that can read up to 50 books of your choice – and answer any questions you have about them or summarize the information about any topic they cover. That AI is Notebook LM – and Callen shares some novel ways to use it to save loads of time.
