Are Instagram REELs necessary for small businesses?

The short answer is YES!

Here’s why you need to learn how to use Instagram REELs if you’re trying to grow your business online…

REELs present an amazing opportunity for smaller brands especially when you don’t have a lot of followers. 

Shelby has had local business clients with less than 100 followers have their REELs blow up and get thousands of views.

That’s the beauty of REELs – they’re not just going out to your followers, but to potentially millions of people scrolling through Instagram.

No, you don’t have to learn trendy dances (but you can if you want to).

A lot of small business owners shy away from making short-form video content because they think it’s all about being goofy and dancing in front of a camera.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that. In fact, showing off your personality online is a big part of building a connection with your audience.

However, there are so many different ways to use REELs to grow your business. Here are just a few ideas…

  • Share a peek behind the scenes of how you make your product
  • Tell your story and educate your audience about your business
  • Show off your product in nice lighting
  • Answer FAQs
  • Feature testimonials from happy customers

You don’t need to overthink it. By design, shorter REELs tend to perform better, anyway. Filming a quick 10-second video could be the key to gaining thousands of new followers.

Just focus on being engaging and providing value to your audience.

If you want to know how to get more views on your Instagram REELs, there are the two key rules to follow:

  1. Try to catch the viewer’s attention within the first 3 seconds of your REEL.
  1. Create video content that provides value to your audience. Answer their questions, talk about things they care about, and focus on how your product can meet their needs.

And remember, people buy from people, not companies. Don’t be afraid to have fun and showcase your authentic personality.
